QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
is the SD30-G1D explosion-proof?
Thank you for your question. No, this unit is not explosion proof. The largest the the same manufacturer makes is a 24" unit

Another manufacturer makes a 30" explosion proof, shutter, wall mounted exhaust fan here:

How does it switch on and off?
This exhaust fan would need to be wired to an On / Off switch, or thermostat.

I am quoting a project to install an exhaust fan with remote control in an 8-inch thick concrete block (CMU) wall. The sleeve size on this fan is 6-inches. Having the louvers inset by 2-inches may look odd? All of the fans I saw were 6-inches.
You may want to consider the GPX3013 wall exhaust fan. It is still only 6" deep, but mounts from the outside of the building instead of the inside like the SD30-G1D.

Can you ha e to big a fan.
When it comes to exhaust fans, the answer is YES, you can have to large of a fan for a given space. You want to determine the size of the area in cubic feet, and then determine the CFM of air movement reqired for the space. This will help to dictate the size exhaust fan you will need.
