Effects of Heat on Dairy Cows

Dairy Exhaust Fans

Exhaust fans in dairy operations are extremely beneficial for your cows and your employees. These fans are designed to quickly and efficiently vent hot, humid, stuffy air to the outdoors. It can also vent fumes, like ammonia and excrement, so that your indoor air smells better and if safe to breathe. We offer a variety of exhaust fans, including shutter mounted wall exhaust fans, boxed wall mount fans, slant wall fans, galvanized coned and poly and fiberglass wall exhaust fans for all installation types and sizes of dairy operations. These fans are available in both single speed and variable speed versions, and can be wall mounted and connected to your facility’s existing electrical system. We offer exhaust fans with the ability to move between 501 and 55,000 CFMs, depending on the type, style and size required. Is is typically suggested to use multiple fans to move the needed CFM, as opposed to utilizing a single fan unit to draw air to a central location.

Air Circulator Fans for Dairy Operations

Ceiling and wall-mounted air circulator fans are a perfect solution for increasing the airflow for the animals within your dairy barn. When the air within a dairy facility doesn’t move, it can result in areas that are extremely hot, humid and stuffy, especially around windows and machinery. The lack of air movement can also cause the air within your facility to build up with ammonia and methane gases caused by urine and excrement.  These gases and fumes can cause illness in cows and even workers if not moved out of the areas. Well-placed circulating fans can help increase air movement, and if you have exhaust fans located along the exterior walls, the circulator fans can help move the hot air toward the exhaust fans where it can be vented to the outdoors, while bringing fresh cooler air in to replace it. We offer air circulator fans with the ability to move between 801 CFM and 40,000 cubic feet of air per minute.

Multi-Purpose Inline Duct Fans

When you need a convenient way to increase the fresh air (intake air) in your dairy facility and vent stale air (exhaust air) to the outdoors, consider choosing one or more inline duct fans. These fans can be mounted in any position into new or existing air duct work on either the intake side or the exhaust side in order to increase the comfort of your dairy barn for both your cows and your employees. Our duct fans come in either direct drive or belt drive versions, sizes from 4" to 16" in diameter, and have the ability to move between 100 and 2,500 cubic feet of air per minute, and you can add multiple fans to the same air duct system for even more air movement and efficiency.
