The VENTS VK PS Series dryer booster fan has been specially designed to solve dryer vent problems where more airflow is needed. The VENTS VK PS dryer booster fans assure efficient and reliable operation. The pre-installed pressure switch allows the VK PS fan to run only when it senses that the dryer is on. The controller cycles the fan until the dryer has stopped. The fans are fitted with backward curved centrifugal impeller, which allows lint not to get stuck in the fan. The VENTS VK PS fans are driven by powerful sealed external rotor motor with lifelong bearings and thermal protection. The VENTS VK PS fans are specially designed for simple installation and years of maintenance free operation.

We'd like to install this unit on the back of the gas dryer. The ducting system is 4in diameter and runs approx 40ft with two 90 degree and three slight (15 degree) bends. This will be used in a salon environment where the dryer operates approx 3 times daily.

Thank you for your question. This unit should work great for your application. Based on your ducting configuration, you should be able to move bewteen 150-180 CFM with this unit, which should be sufficient to effectivley vent your dryer. The unit has a 4" intake and exhaust so it should fit right inline without the need for reducers.
How long is the electrical cord

This unit has an 8 ft. power cord.
Can this be mounted directly at the back of dryer right where exhaust opening comes out of dryer in between dryer and wall. Dryer is close to wall, room is small.

Yes. This fan can be mounted at any point along the ducting from the dryer to the exit.
My duct is 4" Solid aluminum duct: will this fan work or do I need different item/size? I will need a professional electrician to install, since 9' of my duct is in the wall with about 5' exposed in the attic and out a roof vent? Also, I do not have an electric outlet in the attic but all sorts of wires going everywhere into the house Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

This fan should work fine through 15 feet of 4 inch dryer vent ducting as long as there is not more than 2 bends or elbows in the ducting. There will be a little bit of pressure loss due to the restricted duct size, but it shouldn't be much.
Can this be used for gas dryers?

Yes. Electric or gas dryers.
do you need to use a lint trap with this fan. It does not say anything about one in the description

You do not need a lint trap in order for the fan to work. The lint trap is a good idea to improve the life of the fan.
